What is a Local Coordinator?

The primary role of a Local Coordinator is to bring The Shoebox Project to your community and effectively lead your Shoebox Project drive goals. By creating a fun and supportive environment you will manage and coordinate the efforts of your community volunteers, donors and stakeholders to ensure a successful Shoebox drive and support women impacted by homelessness at the local level.

Responsibilities

Local Coordinators create their own goals, build their own support teams, reach out to their community and grow awareness at the community level.

These are the key areas that local chapter coordinators will be responsible for:

Shelters

  • Identify local shelters
  • Develop partnerships
  • Know & meet their needs

Volunteers

  • Recruit and coordinate volunteers
  • Collect, inspect, & deliver shoeboxes
  • Appreciate their efforts

Community Outreach

  • Engage & fundraise
  • Build local networks & partnerships
  • Facilitate corporate/school/group drives

Build Awareness

  • Share the excitement
  • Work with community leaders & press
  • Communicate the community's needs
