Homelessness in Regina
Regina Local CoordinatorHi there! My name is Christine and 2020 marks my 5th year with the Regina chapter of The Shoebox Project and the 4th year as the Local Coordinator. I got involved with the Organization while working for our National Corporate sponsor, Dream. Over the last five years I have met so many wonderful people, from shelter Coordinators, to groups of sisters that put together Shoeboxes instead of giving each other Christmas presents, to the deserving women who receive our shoeboxes. My favourite part of the entire process is always delivery day! I have been involved with volunteering for many years but The Shoebox Project will always be my proudest contribution.
I have since switched jobs from my position at Dream and now work in Health Services for the Saskatchewan division of the RCMP. I was very excited last year when I was able to team up with a few different RCMP teams to deliver boxes to Northern Saskatchewan. In my free time, I enjoy reading, decorating for the holidays and spending time with my family and friends. This year will be a lot different than previous years and will have its own set of challenges, but I know with the amazing support this Chapter has, we will be able to brighten Christmas morning for deserving local women!
