We're excited to be launching the 2021 holiday season gift drive! Please check this page again soon for more information.

Here's how you can support us in the mean time:

100% of your donation will go toward purchasing gift cards and essentials for local women impacted by homelessness.

Shoebox Holiday Drive

Dates: November 1 - December 17, 2021

This holiday season, fill a standard-sized, decorated Shoebox with approximately $50 worth of gifts and essentials that any woman might enjoy, and include a warm greeting or message of support. Our volunteers distribute these gifts to local women’s shelters and community agencies serving women impacted by homelessness across the United States.

Hours: 7 am - 3pm

Work closely with other volunteers to assist in ensuring that each Shoebox donated is inspected, sealed and ready for delivery.

Manage a team of volunteers in organizing the inspection of Shoeboxes and coordinate plan for distribution  of Shoeboxes.

School Outreach Coordinator
Reach out to and form relationships with local primary, secondary & post-secondary schools/clubs to spread awareness and gain interest and support for your chapter goals. Help facilitate school Shoebox drives, item donation collection and notecard writing and for larger chapters lead school ambassador team in coordinating these school events.

Homelessness in



In Boston, since 1999, over 90% of homeless women cared for by Health Care Without Walls have reported physical, sexual, psychological or emotional trauma, many with experiences starting in childhood and occurring throughout their lives, including during pregnancy and into their 90’s.


2017 data sites the main reasons families in MA sought an emergency assistance (EA) shelter were: Domestic violence (13%), Health and safety concerns (57%)


84% more WOMEN experiencing homelessness develop chronic conditions like diabetes, chronic bronchitis, asthma, and hypertension than those who are not homeless, and in Boston an astounding 94% have multiple complex issues.
